Our Water Clear Casting Resin (Norsodyne Polyester) is specifically formulated for high-transparency projects. Whether you are creating decorative paperweights, embedding biological specimens, or crafting intricate clear inclusions, this resin provides a glass-like finish that allows every detail of your embedded object to shine through.

This is a solvented polyester resin (containing styrene), known for its ability to achieve a deep, water-clear look that is difficult to replicate with standard resins.

Key Features:

• Optically Clear: Designed for maximum light transmission and clarity.
• Adjustable Cure Speed: Includes a Free Peroxide Catalyst. You can slightly adjust the "pot life" by varying the catalyst addition between 0.5% and 1%.
• Versatile Embedding: Ideal for preserving coins, insects, flowers, and other non-porous specimens.
• Fast Pot Life: A working time of approximately 20 minutes at 20°C, allowing for efficient project turnover.

⚠️ Important Technical Note:

Please be aware that this is a polyester-based resin, which behaves differently than epoxy:

1. Shrinkage: This resin will shrink by approximately 5% during the curing process. This is a normal chemical reaction as the polymers bond.
2. Not for River Tables: Due to the high shrinkage rate, this resin is NOT suitable for river tables or large furniture voids. Shrinkage will cause the resin to pull away from the wood and create surface wrinkling.
3. Scent: Being a solvented resin, it has a strong styrene odour until fully cured. Always use in a well-ventilated area.
