Choosing a roofing kit

What size GRP roof kit do I need?

Measure the length and width of your flat roof and enter them into our free GRP Kit Calculator, which works out the materials you need. For rubber roofs, use the EPDM Kit Builder. Our guide What Size GRP or EPDM Roof Kit Do I Need? explains how to measure your roof and edge details.

Should I choose 450g or 600g fibreglass matting?

Choose 450g matting for roofs with no foot traffic. Choose 600g matting for roofs that will be walked on, such as balconies, roofs with maintenance access and green roofs. For balconies and walkways with regular foot traffic we also offer double layer 450g balcony kits.

What comes in a GRP roofing kit?

Our standard GRP kits include GRP roofing resin, chopped strand fibreglass matting (450g or 600g), catalyst supplied at a 2% standard cure, and a coloured topcoat. A tool kit can be added from the drop-down on the product page. Trims are ordered separately.

Do you sell fire-rated GRP roofing kits?

Yes. We stock fire-retardant GRP kits from Silverseel, Cure It, Res-Tec, Cromar Pro 25 and Metrodeck. See our fire retardant GRP kits for the fire rating of each system.

Can I lay GRP over an existing roof without re-boarding?

Some systems can. Our complete overlay systems, including Ultra-Flex GRP kits, can be applied directly to asphalt, concrete and metal surfaces. Standard GRP kits are laid onto new boarding. Call us if you're unsure which suits your roof.

Should I choose GRP fibreglass or EPDM rubber roofing?

Both are long-lasting flat roof systems. GRP is laid as a liquid resin with fibreglass matting, giving a seamless, hard-wearing surface that can take foot traffic. EPDM is a single rubber membrane bonded to the deck. Our team can help you decide based on your roof and how it will be used.

Installation

What temperature can I lay a GRP roof in?

Our standard GRP kits can be applied from as low as 5°C, so they can be used all year round. Always follow the instructions supplied with your kit and avoid laying GRP in wet conditions.

Do you have installation guides?

Yes. Watch our GRP fibreglass roofing video tutorials and the EPDM Rubber Roof Online Training Centre.

Which trims and corners do I need?

Drip trims let water run off into the gutter; raised edge trims stop water running off an edge. Both come in three sizes, measured as the drop from the top of the deck boards down the fascia:

  • Small (65mm drop): A170 drip / B230 raised edge
  • Medium (90mm drop): A200 drip / B260 raised edge
  • Large (140mm drop): A250 drip / B300 raised edge

Use a D260 wall fillet where the roof meets a wall, with C3 internal and external corners. C1 external and C4 internal corners suit A200 and B260 profiles. All trims are 600g fibreglass in 3m lengths with a 35mm upstand. Browse all roofing trims.

Is there a minimum order for trims?

Yes, the minimum order for trims is 3 lengths. Orders of 3 trims or fewer are cut into 2 × 1.5m pieces to reduce the risk of breakage in transit.

How fast is delivery?

Orders placed by 12 midday are dispatched the same day, and most are delivered the next day. EPDM products and some resins and topcoats take longer, typically 2–5 working days; the delivery time is shown on each product page. Free delivery applies to most products. See our delivery details.

What is your returns policy?
